Robert Schuster, Esq.
Attorney Robert Schuster has served both as a prosecutor and advocate and has dedicated his career towards fiercely defending and helping individual clients achieve justice in a system heavily weighted against them. Although Attorney Robert Schuster has proudly represented many scores of attorneys, physicians, business executives and celebrities, the majority of the firm's clientele are hard-working men and women who often find themselves on the wrong end of poor choices or simply unjustly accused. The Law Offices of Robert Schuster serves all clients with equal zeal and with a passionate pride in what matters most - results. "What makes our law firm so effective is that we don't try to be everything to everybody," Attorney Robert Schuster describes. "We are a boutique law practice that only practices what you need: criminal defense. In that our firm is so specialized and focused on the individual, we do not accept every client. If we take on your case we know that we will have the time and resources to dedicate towards achieving the results you want and deserve. Because our reputation precedes us, it is on the line with each and every case we take. When The Law Offices of Robert Schuster notices the court and prosecution that we are your attorney, they too know that our firm will handle your matter with the utmost in seriousness and that you will be getting zealous, talented, knowledgeable and professional representation at the highest level - not just a lawyer to stand up for you in court. They know the reputation of our firm and the level of our legal acumen and understand that we are willing to try cases and that we demand that our clients are treated fairly. Nothing is more important to this firm than leaving behind a client who obtains the best possible result."
Attorney Robert Schuster began his education as a pre-med student at Johns Hopkins University. His interest in science and medicine is ongoing and has enabled him to understand scientific, medical, and technical aspects of serology, toxicology, mass spectroscopy, genetics and other forensic science utilized in criminal and DWI/DUI prosecutions with more breadth and specificity than most. This enables him to argue defects in those forensics to his client's benefit.
Before graduating near the top of his class with Phi Beta Kappa honors, Attorney Robert Schuster became increasingly interested in the law. He became President of the University's pre-law society, garnering a University Seal for Outstanding Leadership. Attorney Schuster then served numerous internships at prosecutor and defense offices in the 1980's and at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington D.C. in the 1990's while in Law School. Following a year working for the founding partner of a major Manhattan Law Firm, he entered Georgetown University Law Center where he graduated in the summer of 1994. He was immediately admitted to the New York Bar in the spring of 1995. As an Assistant District Attorney, Attorney Robert Schuster handled a great volume of cases from most every major title of the Penal Law, presented cases to Grand Jury, trying dozens of cases to verdict, nearly all of which he won. As an ADA, Attorney Schuster briefed Appellate cases involving early utilization of DNA evidence in Rape cases as well as many Homicide cases for the Appellate Division and the Court of Appeals, most of which involved complex issues of Constitutional Law. All of his appellate work was successful. In 1997, Attorney Robert Schuster left the District Attorney's office to go into private practice. Following a period at a large firm where he utilized his medical background defending physicians in medical malpractice cases, he began representing criminal defendants at his own firm in 1998.
Two decades later, Attorney Robert Schuster has grown a boutique criminal law practice located in the heart of Westchester County. He handles matters in the State and Federal Courts throughout (and north of) the New York metropolitan region and in other States when the need arises. High profile matters that Attorney Schuster has defended have received coverage by NBC News, ABC News, New York Newsday, The Herald Tribune, People Magazine, The Daily Mail, Entertainment Tonight, The New York Post, The Wall Street Journal, Fox News, CBS News, The Journal News, The San Francisco Chronicle, AM970, AM510, and WHLT.
Attorney Robert Schuster's personal interests are diverse. He is a practitioner of several martial art disciplines. He has earned a Blackbelt in full contact karate. In his 40's he took 1st Place in a regional Knockdown Tournament. Attorney Schuster is an accomplished chess player who has defeated several international masters and the occasional Grandmaster. He plays at least one game almost daily to keep sharp. Attorney Robert Schuster is among the most decorated attorneys in New York State in the fields of criminal defense and DUI / DWI law. He has experience handling thousands of State and Federal criminal matters since 1995 and has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in most of the major titles within the New York State Penal Law. Unlike many other Criminal and DWI lawyers in Westchester County, Attorney Schuster limits his practice so he can personally attend each court appearance with his client over 99% of the time—when you hire Attorney Robert Schuster, you get Attorney Robert Schuster.
