Mother Charged with DWI After Yorktown Crash

A Carmel woman faces felony charges after she hit another vehicle on Rt. 35 while driving drunk with her two children inside the vehicle, Yorktown police said today.

The 38-year-old was heading eastbound with her 5-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son inside the car on Sunday when her car struck an oncoming, westbound vehicle, police said.

The driver and passenger of the other car were taken by ambulance for treatment of what police described as non-life threatening injuries.

She was formally charged with two counts of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child, a felony. She was released without bail and ordered to appear in Town Court on Tuesday.
