Man Charged in Crash That Injured Teens

A former town man living in New York City has been charged with felony vehicular assault and misdemeanor DWI in connection with an accident that seriously injured two teens from Carmel and Shrub Oak, state police said.
The 43-year-old was arrested in connection with an accident that took place on the Bear Mountain Parkway in Cortlandt. Police said that the accused was driving east in when he crossed the center line and struck a westbound vehicle driven by the Carmel resident who had another teen girl as a passenger and each was hospitalized in critical condition for period of time.
Police said results from blood obtained from the accused showed his blood-alcohol level at 0.16 percent and he was also driving with a suspended license.
He was charged with two counts of first-degree vehicular assault, a felony,
DWI and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors.
