A state trooper was injured Thursday night after he pulled over a car onto the shoulder of the Sprain Brook Pkwy and then the driver of another vehicle crashed into that police car. As a result, the trooper, who was in the squad car at the time of the 10:30 p.m. crash, suffered from neck and leg injuries.
The officer was treated at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla and was later released.
The driver who caused the accident was traveling southbound on the parkway in the left hand lane but crossed three lanes of traffic only to drive into the rear of the squad car, police said.
He was ticketed on violation charges of making an unsafe lane change andfailing to use due care when approaching a stopped emergency vehicle.
