Off-Duty Officer DWI in Crash

A drunken, off-duty police officer was arrested Wednesday after he hit and killed a man with his car in the Bronx, cops said.
The 25-year-old driver hit the 22-year-old pedestrian in Wakefield at E. 241st St. A witness said the driver was speeding and after the impact, kept driving but turned around back to the scene of the accident.
The injured pedestrian was taken to Montefiore Medical Center, then Jacobi Medical Center where he died.
The driver was charged with vehicular manslaughter,
criminally negligent homicide and
DWI. His BAL was .07, a source said. The police officer was immediately suspended and then released on $20,000 bail.
