A 22-year-old Wappingers Falls man is being held on charges he stole two cars. His reason? It was that "the train doesn't go to Walmart," police said.
He was arrested on a warrant Wednesday and charged with third and fourth-degree grand larceny, felonies, in the thefts from the Cold Spring railroad station and from a Cold Spring home.
Police said he admitted that he stole both cars after he was caught driving one of the vehicles that was involved in a traffic accident. Beacon police charged him with felony criminal possession of stolen property, plus vehicle and traffic infractions
He was sent to the county jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond and is due back in Village Court on Oct. 12.
