Two drivers allegedly driving drunk were arrested after they were involved in separate crashes Saturday morning, Southampton Town Police said.
One driver crashed his Honda into a mailbox and then fled the scene but was noticed by another person who followed him and called police, police said.
The 27-year-old man was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was driving without a license due to a prior DWI conviction.
Following that incident, a 26-year-old man drove straight into the woods, police said. The resident of Hampton Bays failed sobriety tests. He suffered minor injuries. His passenger was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center after she was found unconscious at the scene.
Both men were charged with DWI. The first driver was additionally charged with leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license and several traffic violations.
