Teen Charged with Driving While Intoxicated

Several people were injured early Saturday morning after a 17-year-old was said to be driving while intoxicated.  He was driving on Rt. 110 in E. Farmingdale when he lost control of his vehicle and then rear-ended the car in front of him, Suffolk County police said.

According to police, he struck a vehicle driven by a woman who was stopped and attempting to make a U-turn at the intersection of Route 110.

The female passengers in the 17-year-old's car were treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, as were the driver of the other vehicle and her passenger, police said.

He was charged with DWI. An arraignment was not scheduled as of Saturday morning.
