Man DWI with Kids in Car

A man was charged with DWI Saturday after he crashed his car while his son and grandson were inside the car, Suffolk County police said.
The 46-year-old was driving southbound on Deer Park Avenue when detectives said he hit another vehicle that was stopped at a red light. The crash he caused resulted in that vehicle hitting the one in front of it.
An officer at the scene said that the driver was driving while impaired by drugs and arrested him. His 12-year-old son and 2-year-old grandson were inside his vehicle at the time of the accident.
He was with felony aggravated driving while intoxicated under Leandra's Law,
DWAI by drugs and two counts of
endangering the welfare of a child.
