Man Caught with 5-Pounds of Marijuana

A 62-year-old Mahopac man faces a felony charge after police caught him with 5 pounds of marijuana, police said.
He was arrested after he was found having picked up the marijuana at a nearby residence, police said. Members of the Carmel Police Special Conditions Unit were told of a large quantity of marijuana was going to be sent to a private residence in Mahopac.
After the suspect arrived to pick up the package, he was arrested
Police charged him with felony second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony. Police searched his residence and found more marijuana, scales and packaging materials and then charged him with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
He was sent to the Putnam County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
