High Driver Spits at Hospital Personnel

A driver, who was allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs, has been accused of spitting at Nassau University Medical Center staff members after he was taken there for observation, New York State police said.

A Trooper pulled over a vehicle driving westbound on the Northern State Parkway in Carle Place when the officer discovered that the driver was found to be under the influence of heroin.

The driver failed sobriety tests, and had eight bags of heroin inside his vehicle. He was then arrested for DWAI, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and traffic violations police said.

He was then taken to the hospital after he complained of pain in his feet and legs. After the suspect caused a disturbance and used offensive language to the staff, he was then charged with disorderly conduct.
