Head-on Collision Kills Livery Passenger

A passenger of livery cab was killed in a head-on collision with another car that was going the wrong way on an LIE service road in Queens, cops said.

Police said that the Lincoln Town Car livery cab was traveling eastbound on that service road when it was hit head on by another vehicle. The impact sent the passenger, that was sitting in the back, over the seat and into the driver's lap.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle got out of the vehicle then ran away. Police were still searching for the driver late yesterday. His passenger was taken to a local hospital and charged with possession of marijuana, cops said.

Some residents who live near the scene at 58th Rd. said they heard the early morning crash.

A witness to the crash said it was "a big noise" that was "like a bomb."
