Man Charged with DWI After Hit-and-Run

A 43-year-old Spring Valley was charged with felony DWI after causing a hit-run accident Tuesday, police said today.
A 22-year-old woman from Brooklyn, and his passenger, a 22-year-old from Spring Valley, were treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The vehicles collided head-on in New Hempstead Tuesday, Reilly said. The driver was traveling north when his vehicle went into the southbound lane, colliding with a 2011 Honda Accord, Reilly said.
He is also accused of leaving the scene of the accident.
He was arrested and charged with felony DWI due to a previous DWI conviction within the past 10 years, police said. He also was charged with first-degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and
second-degree vehicular assault, as well as a misdemeanor count of leaving the scene of a personal injury motor vehicle accident.
