A father was charged in a brawl that led to the stabbing death of his son killed on his graduation day.
The 40-year-old was indicted by a grand jury on assault and weapons charges for first attacking two parking garage attendants before one of the attendants stabbed his 19-year-old son, prosecutors said. The jury did find that the father acted "
with intent to cause serious physical injury to another person" in the June 28 incident. The two parking garage attendants were never charged.
The father accused the two attendants of stealing an expensive bottle of cologne from inside his car while it was parked at the garage. This bottle of cologne was a graduation gift for his son. A fight took place wherein the angry father confronted the two attendants and hit one on the arm with a shovel. That is when the other attendant stabbed the 19-year-old in the heart killing him.
His lawyer said that his client is still presumed innocent.
