A town man was charged with felony DWI after police responded to a call regarding an erratic driver, police said today.
A 37-year-old man of Yorktown was arrested on Sunday, police said.
About 8 p.m. Sunday, police received a report from a motorist on Rt. 118 who was following a Jeep driving erratically. The motorist followed the Jeep to an address on Granite Springs Road.
An officer arrived and suspected that Costello was driving the Jeep while DWI and then discovered that the driver's license was suspended from a previous DWI conviction within the past 10-years, police said.
The man was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, DWI, felonies, and refusing to submit to a breath test, a violation, police said.
He was sent without bail to the Westchester County jail in Valhalla, where he remains today. He is due in Town Court tonight.
