Man DWI with Son Inside Car, Troopers Say

A man who was driving drunk with his son in the car faces a felony charge after being stopped for speeding Friday on the Thruway, state police said today.

The  48-year-old Yorktown man was stopped early Friday morning and was found to be intoxicated while driving with his 13-year-old son inside the car, police said.

Burke had a blood alcohol level of 0.12 percent and was charged with felony DWI under Leandra's Law and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was ordered to appear in Ulster Town Court on June 1 after troopers were unable to locate a local judge for arraignment.
