Police charged a Mahopac man with DWI after responding to a larceny report in the Village Shopping Center, police said.
Officers responded to the McDonald's on Route 6 on Saturday after a truck driver complained that four people in a dark-colored sedan had taken four traffic cones he set up around his parked truck, police said.
The officers stopped a car when they saw the driver leaving the Olympic Diner parking lot with a traffic cone on top of the car's roof, police said.
The officers recovered the four traffic cones, returned them to the truck driver, who declined to press charges.
Officers then determined the 23-year-old driver from Mahopac was intoxicated. He was charged with
DWI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08 percent, misdemeanors, and having an expired inspection, an infraction, police said.
