Mom Asleep with Twins Inside Vehicle, Prosecutors say

A 41-year-old New Rochelle was barred in New Rochelle City Court from having contact with her 18-month-old twins.
She pulled her car over around 3 p.m. Thursday and then fell asleep over the steering wheel, the prosecution said.
Employees of a nearby deli saw the children inside the car and believed the sleeping woman was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. They called police, the prosecution said. She was found to have had pain medication in her possession, authorities said. Police initially charged her with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in addition to
felony driving while impaired by drugs.A handcuffed Golomb was arraigned on felony driving while impaired by drugs charge. The Judge told her he had to act conservatively to protect her children, so he issued an
order of protection whereby denying her access to the children.
