Man Charged With DWI in Crash

A Queens man was arrested for DWI after he crashed in Valley Stream on Saturday night, New York State police said.
The 51-year-old was driving westbound on the Southern State Parkway when he crashed near the exit for Corona Avenue. He then tried to flee the scene on foot, police said. He was apprehended on Howell Road shortly after.
He failed sobriety tests and was found to have had a
blood alcohol level of .11 percent, police said.
He was charged with DWI as a felony due to a prior conviction in last 10-years, leaving the scene of an auto accident and several traffic violations.
