A man was arrested for
DWI after he was involved in a hit-and-run on the Northern State Parkway on Saturday morning, New York State police said.
A Trooper watched as a speeding vehicle changed lanes without signaling and then struck another vehicle. He then continued to drive away without stopping on the entrance ramp to the parkway from the Meadowbrook State Parkway shortly after nine in the morning, police said.
The driver was slow to respond to police but eventually pulled his vehicle over near the Post Avenue exit, police said.
The 24-year-old Bay Shore man failed sobriety tests and was found to have a blood alcohol content of .08 percent, police said.
He was charged with DWI, leaving the scene of an accident and traffic violations.
