Pedestrian Struck: Driver DWI

Nassau County Police say that a 23-year-old has been arrested for DWI after hitting a pedestrian in Rockville Centre on Wednesday night.
The victim was crossing near the corner of North Centre Ave. when he was hit by a 23-year-old driver traveling eastbound in a Ford Explorer, police said.
The SUV collided with the median, causing it to roll over and then rest on its roof in the westbound lane. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he is in critical condition suffering from two fractured legs and internal injuries.
The driver was charged with vehicular assault and DWI. He will be arraigned Thursday at First District
Court in Hempstead
