A 36-year-old Peekskill man with a DWI charge already pending was charged again days later after a police officer stopped him for driving the wrong way, police said today.
He was first charged with DWI and aggravated DWI, misdemeanor, on May 22 in Cortlandt, police said. He was then stopped by police again on May 31 after a police officer saw him driving the wrong way, police said. It was determined that he was drunk and was then charged with DWI, a misdemeanor. Once at the station, the driver's BAL was tested at
0.22 percent - nearly three times the legal threshold for driving while intoxicated - and he was then charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.
He was also charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, after police determined that his license was suspended for failing to submit to an alcohol-screening test for the
DWI that is already pending against him.
He is being held at the Westchester County jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail and is due back in Court on Thursday.
