4 DWI Suspects in Accidents

Four drivers have been arrested for DWI following accidents across Long Island over the past four days, authorities said. The cases are in addition to two other DWI accidents in Nassau County over the weekend. One DWI accident was fatal and the other resulted in serious injuries.
A 22-year-old was driving southbound on Route 135 when he struck a guardrail. He pulled onto the Northern State Parkway and then called 911 at on Friday, New York State police said. Police found a beer bottle, a marijuana pipe and 6 Lorezepam inside the vehicle. The driver had a BAC of .17 percent; more than twice the NYS legal limit of .08 percent, police said.
Later, a 22-year-old from Freeport, was driving Meadowbrook Parkway when she got left the roadway and struck a light pole, state police said. Troopers said she had a BAC of .10 percent.
On Monday, a 26-year-old was driving on Southern State Parkway when he crashed, state police said. Troopers said the Hicksville man was passed out in the driver's seat and found to be high on Xanax.
More recently a 70-year-old from Westhampton was driving her vehicle when she crashed into a tree on Monday, Southampton Town Police said. After she complained of facial injuries due to her airbag deployment, she was taken to a local hospital and then found to be under the influence of alcohol.
