Two men in the same car are facing new felony DWI charges after a traffic stop this morning. An officer assisting NJ police with an unrelated case saw two cars speeding northbound on the Palisades near Exit 5.
One driver was given a ticket and released. The second driver was ordered to pull over. Police said that as they approached the vehicle, the driver switched seats with a passenger. One of those men threw a cup filled with beer out the window which nearly hit the officer and police car.
Both men failed field sobriety tests, police said. Both also had previous DWI convictions. The two were charged with felony counts of DWI. One was also charged with with a felony count of aggravated unlicensed operation because he was driving with a license that had been
suspended because of a previous DWI conviction.
Both men are awaiting arraignment.
