A Yorktown man is due in Town Court to answer tofelony charges of DWI and driving with a suspended license, police said today.
The 21-year-old was stopped on Saturday when he was observed not wearing a seat belt and failing to use a turn signal, police said.
The officer then determined that the driver was drunk and his license suspended. He was charged with DWI, aggravated
DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, felonies, and infractions.
The charges were elevated to felonies because of a previous conviction, police said. The aggravated DWI charge means the
BAL was at least 0.18 percent, more than twice the legal threshold of 0.08 percent for DWI in New York State.
