Driver DWI in Fatal Crash

A man was charged with DWI after he struck two pedestrians, killing one, in North Amityville early Monday, Suffolk County police said.
He was driving southbound on Route 110 when he hit a man and woman near the corner of Ritter Avenue, police said.
The woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The man pedestrian, who is unidentified, was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The 49-year-old driver was charged with DWI and he will be arraigned Tuesday in Central Islip.
