Teen Mom Pleads Guilty to Crash

19-year-old
admitted to DWI when she passed out behind the wheel and crashed into a tree last March. The accident she caused broke her 4-year-old daughter’s neck and severed her spine leaving her paralyzed. Shenow needs a respirator because she was not secured in a car seat.
Samantha Alfaro pleaded guilty at
Nassau
County
court to vehicular assault and DWI under
Leandra’s law, and pled guilty to endangering the welfare of a minor.
Alfaro’s blood-alcohol content was .11 percent nearly an hour after the crash. Inside her vehicle, police found a half-empty bottle of vodka, plastic cups, and multiple empty beer bottles.
Alfaro will be sentenced to
three to nine
years in prison March 2.
