Cops: Siblings Drove Drunk

Two sisters were charged with DWI within minutes of one other at the French Hill School parking lot on Baldwin Road, police said.
The arrests took place Dec. 26 around 3 a.m.
Officers Matt Iacona and Angel Garcia responded to the lot after a report of an accident. They found Deanna M. Savarese, 25, of Old Westbury, Long Island, had driven her vehicle into two lights poles in the parking lot, police said. The officers determined she was drunk and charged her with misdemeanor DWI, police said.
As the two officers were investigating, Nadia M. Savarese, 21, of Tuckahoe, drove into the lot to check on her sister. The officers then determined she was drunk and then charged her with misdemeanor DWI.
Deanna Savarese is due in Town Court on Jan. 25 while Nadia Savarese is due Jan. 27, police said.
