Alleged Wrong-Way Driver Arrested for DWI

Suffolk County Police say that James Hanley, 19, of Brentwood, was arrested and charged with DWI early Sunday when a police officer allegedly observed the man driving his vehicle the wrong way on Wheeler Rd. in Central Islip.
Hanley was allegedly driving northbound in the southbound lane when he drove through a red light at around 2:30 a.m., police said.
There was an alleged pursuit because Hanley refused to exit his vehicle. When he did pull his vehicle over, he resisted arrest on Church Street.
He was charged with DWI, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving and resisting arrest
