A Yorktown woman had a
BAC of more than five times the legal limit when she hit another vehicle and attempted to leave the scene,
Carmel police said today. The 25-year-old had a BAC of 0.42 percent when she was administered a
breath test at police headquarters after she was
arrested Tuesday, police said.
The legal threshold for DWI in NYS is 0.08 percent. A blood-alcohol level greater than
0.18 percent will result in a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated.
Once police determined her blood-alcohol level, they called for an ambulance and she was then taken to the Putnam Hospital Center in
Carmel for treatment.
