North Salem Man Faces Fifth DWI Charge

Putnam Deputies William Meyer and Jonathan Cihanek were on patrol on Monday when they stopped Thomas J. Walsh of North Salem for a traffic violation.  They then determined his license was revoked and he was DWI, police said. Walsh was charged with  DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, felonies.

Walsh has three previous convictions for DWI. In addition, state police charged Walsh with felony  DWI in North Salem in October after he had gone to the scene of a motorcycle accident to help a friend and there police determine he was intoxicated. It was his fourth DWI arrest; the case is still pending in North Salem Town Court.
