Driver DWI in Hit-and-Run Accident

A Riverhead man was arrested for DWI after he crashed his car and fled the scene in Southampton, Town Police said.
The man arrested hit a Toyota Highlander stopped at a red light and then attempted to leave the scene. He then struck the same Highlander a second time, police said. He then walked away from the scene and police apprehended him nearby.
He was charged with DWI after he was found to have a
BAC of .18 percent, more than twice the
New York State legal limit of .08 percent. In addition, he was charged with driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident.
