A Yorktown man was driving drunk even after his license had been suspended six times.
He was stopped for speeding Sunday on Route 202 by Officer Anthony DiPietrantonio, police said. The officer determined that he was intoxicated and then took him into custody, police said. He was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, and DWI, a misdemeanor, police said.
At police headquarters, he was then charged with petty larceny, a misdemeanor, stemming from another incident in which he allegedly stole eight packs of cigarettes valued at $80 from the HessMart on Crompond Road, police said.
He was arraigned and he remained at the jail today and is due back in Town Court on Feb. 10.
