Yonkers Man Arrested for Shooting

Police arrested a 24-year-old Yonkers man in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old Maryland boy last week.

The 24-year-old suspect was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree weapon possession, felonies.  He is accused of shooting the boy in the shoulder during a dispute.

The boy was shot and police said they do not believe he was the intended target, noting that a feud with someone else inside another vehicle may have triggered the shooting.

The suspect was arrested on Wednesday and was arraigned in Yonkers City Court on Thursday and is being held at the Westchester County jail in Valhalla. He is due back in court on Dec. 13.
