One Arrested in Home Invasion

One man was arrested as detectives were still searching for another involved in anarmed home invasion on the east side of Yonkers.

One 36-year-old was arrested after two men forced their way into that home, Detective Lt. McCormack said. A 19-year-old suspect is still at large.

The incident began when the two suspects knocked on the door and the two forced their way in and assaulted the 35-year-old occupant. One of the intruders had a handgun. A shot was fired inside and the bullet struck a wall. The intruders fled immediately afterward, empty-handed.

The victims called 911 with descriptions of the intruders and officers began searching the area. One suspect was arrested but no gun was found.

He was being held on a warrant for a parole violation. He was expected to be charged with first-degree burglary, a felony.
