Man Accused of DWI

A Freeport man has been arrested for DWI with a young passenger inside his vehicle on the Southern State Parkway in North Merrick early Sunday morning, New York State police said.
Troopers stopped the driver at 2:19 a.m. for making unsafe lane changes near exit 24, Merrick Avenue, police said. The 48-year-old had a blood alcohol content of 0.13 percent, police said.
He was then charged with DWI as a felony under Leandra's Law, endangering the welfare of a child and other traffic violations.
