Driver Charged with DWI in Southeast; Gave Fake Name

A Connecticut man charged with DWI early today gave police a fake name and a fake date of birth in an attempt to hide that he had 21 active suspensions on his license, state police said.
The 34-year-old from Danbury was stopped Nicholas Colavito, 34, of Danbury for driving with no headlights. Police took him into custody after he failed field-sobriety tests, police said.
The driver gave the trooper a fake name and fake birth date, police said. The trooper found out the driver's true identity and learned of the 21 active suspensions, police said.
He was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, DWI and false personation, misdemeanors. He was held for arraignment.
