A 19-year-old drunken driver, who killed an aspiring lawyer, avoided prison thanks to the victim's mother. The mother was bent on vengeance after her 28-year-old son was struck and killed in 2008.
But her ex-husband convinced her that he deserved a shot at redemption.
In a unique plea deal means he will plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter and
driving under the influenceOver the next few years, the community service agreement means he must speak 100 times to students about the dangers and conesquences of
drinking and driving. He must also attend
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) meetings.
