Prosecutors are reviewing at least 13 DWI arrests by one
Long Island highway patrol officer who they say had been disciplined for making similar charges without probable cause.
Newsday reports that the Nassau County D.A.'s office is examining cases where Officer Joseph Lynch had also testified at trial.
Lynch was assigned to desk duty in 2005 after the District Attorney's office reported that their investigation found he was stopping vehicles without probable cause in order to catch drunk drivers. He was restored to regular duty in 2008 due to insufficient evidence to prosecute him.
