A Carmel man was charged with DWI Thursday night after he struck a New York State police car that had been stopped on the side of the Taconic State Parkway, state police said today.
He was also cited under the new Ambrose-Searles Move Over Act for failing to move over as he approached the crusier with its emergency lights on. His car struck the police vehicle, pushing it into the disabled vehicle in front of it, police said.
He was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, failure to move over and refusal to submit to a chemical test, infractions.
