An alleged drunken driver was arrested after officers on Long Island caught him speeding at more than 100 mph on the Long Island Expressway, Nassau County police said.
A Highway Patrol officer clocked him speeding at 122 mph near exit 41 in North Hills at 12:30 a.m., police said.
The driver, a 26-year-old from Central Islip, was stopped. During the process of following and pulling him over, other motorists were avoiding becoming involved in a collision with him. He was charged with DWI,
reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and 10
traffic violations.
His bail was set at $15,000 bond or $7,000 cash following his arraignment Sunday in Hempstead.
