James Davis, 31, was nabbed after an investigation by the U.S. Secret Service and Westchester County police for felony larceny and identity-theft charges. He has been accused of selling stolen credit card information to others so they could purchase more than $100k worth of electronics.
Secret Service agents contacted Westchester County police in January regarding suspicious transactions involving credit card information that they say had been stolen from victims who dined at a White Plains restaurant and then used to make purchases at Best Buy and AT&T.
He's charged with 11 felony counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and 11 counts of third-degree possession of personal identification information. He is also charged with scheme to defraud, a misdemeanor. Police found that he had several bags of suspected cocaine when he was arrested and that more charges were likely.
