Greenburgh - Damion Reid, 22, was found with 120 lbs. of marijuana worth $300,000 after he was stopped this morning at a sobriety checkpoint in Greenburgh, police said.
Westchester County police spokesman Kieran O'Leary said he appeared "extremely nervous" when police approached his 2004 Toyota Corolla on the southbound Bronx River Parkway. Officer George Ruiz saw that Reid had bloodshot eyes and also noticed a pot smell coming from the vehicle, O'Leary said. Reid was taken into custody after he failed field sobriety tests.
Officers impounded his car and found two duffel bags filled with plastic bags of marijuana inside the trunk, they said. Police also found $1,800 in cash, O'Leary said.
Reid was charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison; and driving while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor.
He was to be arraigned today in Greenburgh Town Court
