Federal marshals apprehended fugitive Kenneth Wilson, an alleged drug dealer, who escaped Glen Cove police five months ago. He was charged with criminal sale and possession of cocaine.
Police said Wilson was pulled over for a traffic infraction in April but ran away when the officer saw what appeared to be a small bag of crack cocaine inside his vehicle. Police said the suspect left behind his wallet and identification and was also found to have had two unrelated arrest warrants at the time.
Investigators looking for Wilson learned that he was back in Glen Cove. Police and U. S. Marshals from the regional fugitive task force raided several locations simultaneously where Wilson was known to stay. Police caught him as he tried to hide inside a neighbor's apartment on Landing Road early Thursday morning, police said.
Wilson will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
