A 17-year-old was in the bedroom of his East New York apartment with his pal, a 15-year-old, playing with a semi-automatic handgun when it suddenly went off, police said.
The gun fired a round killing him instantly.
Investigators believe the silver handgun belonged to the 17-year-old, but it was not immediately clear how the teen acquired the gun, sources said.
The accused fled the scene after his friend was killed, but cops nabbed him soon after. The gun was located one block away, stuffed inside a plastic bag, police said.
Police questioned him about the shooting for the entire day at the 75th Precinct stationhouse.
He was charged with manslaughter and
possession of a weapon, cops said.
