Mom Arrested for DWI; in Crash With Son

A 39-year-old woman was arrested for drunken driving with her 12-year-old son after crashing her SUV, Nassau County police said. Officers who responded found her to be intoxicated, police said.
The child was taken to a local hospital for evaluation after he complained of ear pain and was released to his father. The driver of the other vehicle complained of pain to her arm and was also taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Col was charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony under
Leandra's Law, and endangering the welfare of a child. She will be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead
