Man Drove Drunk, Injured Pedestrian

A 58-year-old from Bethpage was arrested Wednesday morning for driving while intoxicated and critically injuring a pedestrian,
Nassau
County
police said.
Just after midnight, the driver struck 20-year-old Gregory Tejada with his 1996
Toyota
on
Edison Avenue
in
West Babylon, according to police.
Tejada, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip where he remains in critical condition.
The accused was treated for minor injuries at
Southside
Hospital
in
Bay Shore and was released shortly after and was subsequently arrested. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in
Central Islip.
