Yorktown - A 34-year-old of White Road, Putnam Valley has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated for the second time in a little over a month, police said today. He is being held without bail at the Westchester County jail while awaiting a scheduled appearance tonight in Town Court.
He was arrested Friday on Route 6 in the Shrub Oak section of town after police responded to a report of an erratic driver. Police said he did not pull over after the officer activated his cruiser's lights and sirens.
When the driver eventually stopped, Officer Noone determined he was intoxicated. He also had heroin and a hypodermic needle, police said.
Police charged him with driving while intoxicated, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, felonies, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, misdemeanors, and additional traffic infractions.
