4 Teens Stole Oars from Fishermen on Island

Lewisboro - Authorities said four teenagers were arrested Monday after they stole oars from two fishermen whereby leaving them stranded on an island in the middle of the Cross River Reservoir
Police from the shore and from a helicopter spotted the teens, ages 17 and 18, rowing to shore with the stolen oars, then entering into a red car and driving away, said Mercedes Padilla, spokeswoman for the New York City DEP. Bedford police then stopped the car after it pulled into the Fox Lane High School parking.
DEP police officers arrived and arrested them. The four, whose names were not available, were to be arraigned in Valhalla on felony charges of grand larceny and misdemeanor charges of petty larceny, criminal trespass and reckless endangerment, Padilla said.
