Cortlandt Man Indicted in Bank Heists

A Cortlandt native who has previously served 10 years in prison for robbery has been indicted on federal charges for stealing more than $190,000 during heists this year at a Chinese restaurant in the Bronx and seven banks in Westchester and Putnam.
Karriem Barrow, 37, has been in custody since he and a distant cousin, Carl Farrington, were arrested in April. He faces up to eight life terms plus 220 years in prison on 18 armed robbery and firearm charges, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Wednesday in announcing the indictment.
